MOE MOE KYUN KYUNNNN i've gotta be very frank, i pick and choose all of my colors by hand... you could try and use apps like ibispaint, pixlr, etc. to tint your skins, and study which colors work best from that. (it did help me understand darker tones better early on) i suppose lightly studying color theory also helps tons but i mostly just went off of what looked best to me. i like to combine more muted colors with a varying degree of saturation, so i'll try to combine somewhat bright shades with more dull shades. it makes the colors pop out!! i hope this helps
